A House of Prayer

25th Apr 2017
A House of Prayer

We have been reading the story about King Solomon; who built a place for people to gather and pray. The children then thought about all the places that people can gather to pray locally. We went on a walk around the village and looked at all the different Churches where people worship. The children discussed the similarities and differences in the buildings such as spires, bells, stained glass windows and crosses. The children then built their own Churches using different materials such as Lego, wooden blocks and bricks unfortunately we didn't have the silver, gold and precious diamonds that King Solomon used! The children were chatting about how even though there are so many Churches they were all houses of God.

We are now making beautiful stained glass windows. Keep an eye at the window in the front hall where you will soon see our new display!
